The Coffee Table Duo consists of two pieces designed to both contrast and compliment each other. Stone has been an integral part of my work since I first started making furniture, and the warm qualities of the English chestnut sits in contrast to the coolness of the stone material and the black metal. 

Function is paramount in a coffee table and having two tables provide plenty of possibility for personalising your space. The gridded shelf on the larger table is designed so it does not gather too much dust, but still offers a practical yet beautiful storing option. 

Using stone off-cuts allows me to source stone cheaper and more sustainably. As a result, working with stone often means not knowing which material I will be able to source for the design. I see the randomness, because of supply and demand, as part of the design process and visual outcome. For this particular table I was able to source Madagascar blue granite. It is a beautiful stone with so much depth and wonderful colours, which changes appearance depending on the angle you view it from.
