GLASSES CABINET
The Glasses Cabinet is my take on a traditional china cabinet. China cabinets are very common in Denmark and are used to store and display beautiful chinaware.
I have taken inspiration from the heavy bottoms of baroque furniture and old museum display cabinets to make a cabinet that feels solid and sturdy, yet still preserving an overall lightness.
I wanted to create a cabinet where fine glassware could be on display, and decided to use glass racks instead of traditional shelves. As a result, the glassware hang from the racks like little pieces of fruit, adding an element of surprise and delight to the design.
